Hi I'm Marsha.  Welcome to the inspired word of God.

My subject today is "What's Done in Secret."
Psalm 64:1 and to hear my voice Oh God in my prayer, preserve my life from fear of the enemy. Hide me from the secret council of the lift gate from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity. (KJV)

This is a Psalm of David.  David dealt with many enemies in his life before he became king, and after he became king. In this prayer, he seeks God's protection against the enemy.

The enemy can be the devil and his demonic forces, or it can be people who have evil in their heart. If a person is working wickedness they are operating in the same category and the same spirit as the devil. Evil is evil.

A secret council is a company of persons in close deliberation, a secret assembly where confidentiality is the heart of the matter. These people are wicked. They are representatives of evil and they're holding counsel against you.

Counsel can be a one on one, as in your relationship with God, or it can be a group of people. The evilness of people can be overwhelming at times. But that secret counsel that they hold, the plot against you, can be turned around by the power of God and you can declare that in the name of Jesus.

We recognize people working against us at every turn. Sometimes on the job, or just in life, but when you recognize that, it's time to hold your own secret meeting. God sees the plot of these people because he is there. He knows every one of them who are in attendance, the wickedness that they are gathering, plotting, and working.
It's against you.

You know that because you recognized it. You just didn't know they were holding counsel about it. But it's not a secret to God. It may be a secret to you, and we'll find out, but it's never a secret to God. He sees those things that they do. He hears their conversations. And he observes the setup that they have for you.

It says in Psalms 91:1-3
Psa 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psa 91:2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Psa 91:3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. (KJV)

What is a secret? A secret is something that is done without the knowledge of someone else. secret negotiations: those things that are conducted, that are done between a group of people, that are held in confidence, or done by one person, kept from the knowledge of al, but the initiated or privileged, secluded, sheltered or withdrawn these things are done.

So, as I said earlier, it's time to have your own secret meeting. Evil doors might congregate in secret against you but you can go to that secret place of God. Take your complaint to God, abide in him. Give him your time. Lay that prayer at his feet.

Do this without the knowledge of others being involved, because it's between you and God. When we go to that secret place of God, that is a privileged position to be in, When we are in his company.

He will accept you, listen to you, and then he goes to work for you. He is like any other father, you don't mess with his children. Those who operate in wickedness they are not kids. But you are.

David wrote this psalm after God delivered him from his enemies. It is Psalms 18:1-3
Psalms 18:1 I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
Psa 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Psa 18:3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. (KJV)

The word, Buckler means defense. This Psalm can be found in its entirety in Psalm 18:1-50.

Psalms are songs and praises to God. Some of the writers of Psalms include David, Solomon, and Moses. For each situation faced, these writers communicated their need or their victory of God's answer and protection through praise.

There are different categories of Psalms, some are prophetic. Some asked God for punishment of the wicked, and others, the writers sought God's protection, called out to God in despair, declared their devotion to God, and praised God for victory in their situation.

Those situations they wrote about we also endure in our lifetime. The Good, the Bad, the Ugly, the praise reports to answer prayers, and the call for help along with praise for the victory God gives us.

As we read the Psalms, we will often see a reflection of what we are currently going through. They speak of these individuals who sought refuge with God, and how God came to the rescue, and they are relevant today.

As we also seek refuge, God, and answer to our prayers. What's done in secret with the wicked God can turn it around and rid you of the attacks of the enemy. Whoever that enemy may be.

Remember, Psalms 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (KJV)

 Closing prayer:
Lord for any who are under attack of the enemy, I pray a hedge of protection. I pray that they take the initiative to give you a try. Take that chance and trust you. Help those who believe but help them who still have struggles with their unbelief. Let them abide in that secret place, laying their troubles before you, and give them the victory of answered prayer. In Jesus name, Amen.
