Psalms 18:6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. (KJV)

Proverbs 3:6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

To Acknowledge him means more than saying, You are God, I need help, so this is me calling out to you for help!

 To acknowledge:

-to be real, true,

-recognize the existence, truth,

-fact

-to acknowledge one's mistakes.

 To acknowledge God means

-to recognize his authority,

-Show or express appreciation or gratitude

-recognize he is real

-recognize who he is and his divinity. Give him the respect that is due him.

Let us seek God because we genuinely want to have a relationship with him. Let us take this seriously so when troubles come we are equipped to not only pray our way through, but others will call on us to pray for them as well.

This is the goal, (To know,) to perceive and understand that a significant change in or effect on your situation needs to occur in your life. That change is God. and he is the difference in the chain of events that take place in your life.
